TBC Anniversary Level 70 Guide – What to Do First After Hitting Max Level

Hitting level 70 in TBC Anniversary feels huge—but it’s also where the real game begins. With heroic dungeon changes, updated attunements, and raids opening soon, having a clear post-70 plan saves you a ton of time and stress.

If gold is holding you back early—especially for flying or profession prep—many players choose SSEGold to buy TBC Anniversary gold or use boosting services to stay focused on gearing, attunements, and raid readiness instead of grinding endlessly.

Below is a priority checklist covering everything you should be doing in your first couple of weeks at level 70.
what to do at level 70 TBC Anniversary

Priority #1: Get Your Flying Mount

Flying is mandatory for efficient endgame progression.

Flying Costs

  • Normal Flying: 800 gold

  • Epic Flying: 5,000 gold

Where to Train

  • Horde: Shadowmoon Village (Shadowmoon Valley)

  • Alliance: Wildhammer Stronghold

Gatherers can make solid gold while leveling, but not everyone hits 70 with enough saved. If you’re short, finishing level 70 quests—especially in Netherstorm—is one of the fastest ways to generate gold quickly.

Priority #2: Karazhan Attunement (Most Important)

Karazhan opens February 19, making this the most urgent attunement in the game.

Why Karazhan matters:

  • First raid of TBC Anniversary

  • Huge gear upgrades

  • Essential for PvE progression

The attunement sends you back to Old Azeroth, through Deadwind Pass, Dalaran, and multiple dungeons. It’s long, but unavoidable. Read our full Karazhan Attunement guide here.

Strong Recommendation

Install the Attune addon.
It shows:

  • Every required quest

  • Dungeon steps

  • Where to start and what’s next

This single addon saves hours of confusion.

Priority #3: Dungeon Keys You Must Unlock

Shattered Halls Key

  • Kill the Blacksmith in Shadowmoon Valley

  • Materials required:

    • 4 Fel Iron Bars

    • 4 Motes of Fire

    • 2 Arcane Dust

  • Kill a Fel Reaver in Hellfire Peninsula

Pro tip: Use game sound—you’ll hear the Fel Reaver before you see it.

Arcatraz Key (Highly Recommended)

Start this quest chain at Area 52.

Why it’s worth doing:

  • Large XP chunk (even at high levels)

  • Grants Shattrath Leggings

  • Unlocks Tempest Keep dungeons

  • Puts you close to Revered with Sha’tar

Only one person in a group needs the key, which makes key holders very valuable early on.

Shadow Labyrinth Key

  • Run Sethekk Halls

  • Loot the key from the chest after the final boss

Simple and fast.

Black Morass Access

  • Start Caverns of Time intro in Tanaris

  • Complete Old Hillsbrad

  • Follow up with Black Morass

It’s challenging early, so if you’re fresh 70, consider waiting until you’re better geared.

Priority #4: Unlock Your Heroic Dungeon Keys

At level 70, your main reputation goals are:

  • Cenarion Expedition

  • Lower City

  • Sha’tar

  • Thrallmar / Honor Hold

Once Revered:

  • Buy heroic keys

  • Start farming pre-BiS

  • Access daily heroics

If you leveled efficiently, many of these should already be close. If not, level 70 quests are a great way to earn gold and reputation at the same time.

Priority #5: Pre-BiS Gearing & Dungeon Farming

You don’t need heroics immediately.

Normal dungeons still offer:

  • Excellent pre-BiS items

  • Reputation toward heroic keys

Key dungeons to farm:

  • Steamvaults (Cenarion Expedition)

  • Shadow Labyrinth

  • Shattered Halls

  • Tempest Keep dungeons (requires flying)

This is where most players will spend their first week at 70.

Long-Term Goal: Tempest Keep Attunement

Once everything above is done, you can begin The Eye attunement.

Important notes:

  • Extremely long quest chain

  • Requires multiple heroic dungeons

  • Not urgent for early progression

This is something you chip away at after Karazhan prep is complete.

Final Thoughts: Don’t Rush, Don’t Panic

TBC Anniversary gives you everything at once:

  • No heavy time-gating

  • Tons of reputations

  • Multiple gearing paths

You could play 10+ hours a day and still have plenty left to do weeks later. Focus on:

  1. Flying

  2. Karazhan attunement

  3. Heroic keys

  4. Pre-BiS gearing

And if gold, time, or professions are slowing you down, using TBC Anniversary gold, level boosting, or profession boosting services from SSEGold can help you stay competitive without burning out—letting you enjoy one of the best WoW expansions at your own pace.

Take your time. You’re not behind.
