TBC Anniversary Phase 2 Druid Guide: How to Unlock Swift Flight Form & The Raven Lord

With the launch of Phase 2: Overlords of Outland, Druids finally reclaim their status as the kings of world travel. While every other class is saving up 5,000 gold for a whistle and a mount, Druids gain access to an epic class-specific questline.

This guide covers everything you need to know to unlock Swift Flight Form (280% speed) and how to become the most popular player in your guild by summoning Anzu, the Raven Lord.

1. Prerequisites: The Cost of Flying

Before you can even pick up the starting quest in Zangarmarsh, you must meet several steep requirements. Do not wait until Phase 2 launches to start these; the competition for materials will be fierce.

300 Riding Skill

You must pay the 5,000g training fee at Wildhammer Stronghold (Alliance) or Shadowmoon Village (Horde). The quest rewards the spell, but you must have the skill to learn it.

Level 70

This is an endgame-only questline.

Reputation

While not strictly required for the first half, you will eventually need to be Honored with Lower City to enter Sethekk Halls on Heroic difficulty.

2. Part One: The Scavenger Hunt

To begin, head to Cenarion Refuge in Zangarmarsh and speak with Morthis Whisperwing.

The Material Grind

Morthis will send you on a gathering mission. You will need:

• 10x Bogbead Stamens: Farmed from Bog Lords in Zangarmarsh.
• 10x Ancient Lichen: This is an herb found inside level 70 dungeons (Underbog, Slave Pens). If you aren't an Herbalist, buy these on the Auction House now before the Phase 2 price spike.
• 10x Dreaming Glory: Found throughout Terokkar Forest.

The Old World Tour

Next, you'll head back to Moonglade and eventually Azshara. You must track down the Essence of the Moonkin by defeating a lunar-crazed beast.

Pro-Tip: Bring a friend or be prepared to use your full toolkit; the quest mobs in the old world have been slightly "retuned" for the Anniversary power level.

3. Part Two: The Trial of the Athas-szar

The questline moves to Blade's Edge Mountains and Terokkar Forest. You will be tasked with capturing the essences of three animal spirits: the Eagle, the Falcon, and the Hawk.

The Eagle (Terokkar)

You’ll need to survive a gauntlet of ethereal birds.

The Falcon (Nagrand)

A test of speed and flight.

The Hawk (Blade’s Edge)

A combat trial against cultists.

Completing these awards you the Swift Flight Form, allowing you to instant-cast your 280% flight speed—a massive advantage for gathering professions and world PvP.

4. Summoning Anzu: The Raven Lord

The most prestigious part of the Druid questline is the Essence of the Falcon, which rewards you with the [Moonstone Warp].

This item is the only way to summon the boss Anzu inside Sethekk Halls (Heroic).

Summoning Steps

1. Enter Sethekk Halls on Heroic Difficulty (requires the Lower City Key).
2. Clear to the room before the final boss.
3. Use the Moonstone Warp at the bird altar to summon Anzu.

The Anzu Fight Strategy

• Phases: Anzu will vanish at 66% and 33% health, summoning a swarm of non-elite birds.
• The Statues: Druids must use Regrowth or Rejuvenation on the friendly bird statues around the room to activate buffs (damage reduction and a massive AoE poison) to help the group survive.
• The Reward: Anzu has a ~1% chance to drop the [Reins of the Raven Lord], one of the rarest ground mounts in the game.

5. Gold Strategy: Selling "Anzu Runs"

Because only Druids with the completed quest can summon Anzu, you have a massive gold-making opportunity.

• Mount Reserves: Many players will pay 500g–1,000g just for the chance to roll on the mount.
• Daily Service: Since Heroic Sethekk Halls has a 24-hour lockout, you can sell "Summoning Services" daily.
