Diablo 4 Meat or Treat: Get All Rewards & Goblins Farming (Oct 28–Nov 4)

The Diablo 4 Meat or Treat Event is now live in Season 15, giving players another reason to hunt Treasure Goblins and explore Sanctuary. Running alongside Patch 3.2.4 and March of the Goblins, the event features Goblin reputation farming, special Shrine encounters, and the return of the Infernal Butcher. If you are preparing your character for the event, you can also check out SSEGold's Diablo 4 items page.

Here is what you need to know about the event dates, rewards, and the best activities to prioritize before it ends.

How Does Meat or Treat Work?

Meat or Treat combines Treasure Goblin hunting with special Halloween encounters.

Players hunt Treasure Goblins to earn reputation for the Event Board in Kyovashad. As you progress, you can unlock event rewards. You may also encounter Infernal Butchers and special Shrines during your activities.

The basic progression is simple:

  1. Visit the Event Board in Kyovashad.

  2. Hunt Treasure Goblins throughout Sanctuary.

  3. Earn reputation and unlock event rewards.

  4. Explore Infernal Hordes and Nightmare Dungeons for additional encounters.

  5. Claim your rewards before the event ends.

Meat or Treat Event Rewards

According to the event information reported by Icy Veins, the main rewards include:

Reward Type
Regalia of the Sacred Creed Horse Armor
March of the Goblins Emblem
Resplendent Spark Crafting Material

The Resplendent Spark is especially valuable for players working toward Mythic Unique crafting. The two cosmetic rewards are also worth collecting if you want to complete your Season 15 collection.

Check the Event Board for the actual unlock requirements. These rewards should not be confused with ordinary Treasure Goblin drops.

Best Ways to Farm Goblins and Find the Burning Butcher

You do not need to spend the entire event repeating one activity. A combination of Infernal Hordes, Nightmare Dungeons, and open-world farming can help you work toward multiple goals.

1. Infernal Hordes

Infernal Hordes are worth prioritizing because they offer regular combat rewards alongside opportunities for Goblin-related encounters and the Burning Butcher.

Players have also reported Goblin Chaos Waves as an efficient way to gain reputation. Consider the Total Chaos War Plans option if you want to focus on Chaos Wave encounters, but remember that results can vary.

2. Nightmare Dungeons

Nightmare Dungeons are useful for exploring the event's special Shrine mechanics.

Certain Shrine interactions have been reported to trigger unexpected encounters, including the Burning Butcher. Greed Shrines have received particular attention from players, although not every Shrine is guaranteed to produce the same encounter.

If you are hunting the Butcher, stay prepared when activating Shrines rather than assuming they are ordinary buffs.

3. Open-World Goblin Farming

If you prefer direct Treasure Goblin hunting, explore areas such as Scosglen, Nahantu, and Ked Bardu.

A few simple habits can make your runs more efficient:

  • Use Subo if you have access to his enemy-marking ability.

  • Check the full map for Goblin locations.

  • Avoid wasting too much time chasing a single target far from your route.

  • Rotate between areas instead of repeatedly searching an empty zone.

These are suggested farming areas, not guaranteed spawn locations.

Best Meat or Treat Farming Route

If you want to make progress in both Goblin reputation and Butcher encounters, combine activities rather than farming each mechanic separately.

Priority Activity Main Goal
1 Infernal Hordes Goblin Chaos Waves, Butcher encounters, experience
2 Event Board progression Claim reputation rewards
3 Nightmare Dungeons Special Shrines and additional encounters
4 Open-world farming More Treasure Goblin opportunities
5 Helltides Additional combat and material farming

A practical farming session could look like this:

Step 1: Start with Infernal Hordes.

Run your available Compasses and watch for Goblin Chaos Waves and Burning Butcher encounters. This lets you work on several goals during the same activity.

Step 2: Check your Event Board progress.

Return to Kyovashad and claim any rewards you have unlocked. Do not leave reputation rewards sitting unclaimed until the final day.

Step 3: Move into Nightmare Dungeons.

Choose dungeons with Shrine opportunities and use suitable War Plans options. Activate Shrines carefully and be ready for unexpected event encounters.

Step 4: Switch to open-world Goblin farming.

If you want more direct Treasure Goblin hunting, rotate through areas such as Scosglen, Nahantu, or Ked Bardu, depending on your expansion access.

Step 5: Use Helltides as a backup activity.

Helltides can fill the gaps when you want additional combat and material farming. They are not the only way to progress, so use them when they fit your character's needs.

Patch 3.2.4: Prime Evil Splinter Stack Limit Increased

Patch 3.2.4 also brings a useful inventory change: Prime Evil Splinters can now stack up to 99, instead of having a stack limit of 1.

This makes it easier to collect and manage Destruction, Hatred, and Terror Splinters during longer farming sessions. It is not a direct Meat or Treat reward, but it is a welcome quality-of-life improvement for Season 15 players.

What Should You Prioritize?

If you have limited time, focus on the rewards and activities that matter most to your character:

  • Want the Resplendent Spark? Prioritize Event Board reputation and claim the reward when unlocked.

  • Collecting cosmetics? Work toward the Regalia of the Sacred Creed Horse Armor and March of the Goblins Emblem.

  • Want more Goblin encounters? Try Infernal Hordes and open-world farming.

  • Hunting the Burning Butcher? Include Infernal Hordes and Nightmare Dungeons with special Shrines in your rotation.

For players still improving their builds, SSEGold also has Diablo 4 gold and a Season 15 Runewords Guide worth checking out.

Diablo 4 Meat or Treat FAQ

Does Meat or Treat cost anything to join?
No. It is free for all owners of the base game and scales across every world tier.

Can the Infernal Butcher spawn in Hardcore?
He can, and he will kill you if you let him. Play conservatively, or turn your movement skill into a panic button and nothing else.

Are event rewards permanent?
Everything reported so far, from goblin drops to shrine rewards, is standard permanent loot. No seasonal exclusives have been confirmed.

Is the reputation track confirmed?
Not yet. The PTR leak and the March of the Goblins precedent make it likely, but Blizzard has said nothing official.

Diablo 4 Meat or Treat gives Season 15 players a limited-time opportunity to earn cosmetics, work toward a Resplendent Spark, and encounter the Burning Butcher. Focus on Goblin reputation first, then combine Infernal Hordes and Nightmare Dungeons to make your farming sessions more productive.

Do not forget to claim your Event Board rewards before the event ends.
