In Dark and Darker, the concept is simple yet spine-chilling. You'll find yourself dropped into a haunting dungeon, teeming with enemies. Your mission? Scavenge for precious loot and make a daring escape through a portal before the timer ticks down to zero. But beware, should your character meet an unfortunate demise, all your hard-earned loot will be lost.

Keep a close eye on the lower right corner of your screen, just above the minimap. That's where you'll find the timer, ticking away relentlessly. As time passes, the safe zone, indicated by a white circle, gradually shrinks, while the Death Swarm area, depicted in menacing red, expands. Stepping into the Death Swarm territory spells trouble, as your health will steadily dwindle.

As you venture further into the heart of the map, keep your eyes peeled for portal stones. These magical gateways hold your ticket to salvation. Choose wisely, though! The blue portals transport you to safety, while the red ones plunge you into an even more treacherous dungeon floor. As a newcomer, it's highly recommended to opt for the blue portal and play it safe.

3. Tune in to sound: Sound is your ally in Dark and Darker. Listen closely for footsteps, pot smashing, door openings, and other sound cues that add to the intense atmosphere.
