Martial Artists in Blade & Soul relies on their mastery of skills, control of the elements around them, physical prowess, their clothes aren’t entirely purposeless. The symbolism and visual aesthetic represents are quite important, while clothing has little impact on combat ability.

The outfits players wear can be upgraded but have no impact on their abilities. In order to get the benefits from the Soul Shield, players must wear an outfit when in battle. Except that, some costumes can represent players’ allegiance to a faction. The Martial Artists’ red or blue PvP costume can show they are either fighting for the Crimson Legion or Cerulean Order.
