FFXIV Samurai Rotation Guide
The Samurai is one of the two new Jobs introduced in Final Fantasy XIV’s latest expansion, Stormblood. As a DPS class, the Samurai is currently one of the best ones available, but getting a hang of the Sen gauge and the various rotations needed to activate them can take a while to get a hang of.
Anyone that thinks this rotation may be a bit complex there is an easier way to think of the way to do a rotation for similar but maybe not the best DPS in a perfect situation.
Opener: Meikyo -> Shifu -> Jinpu -> Yukikaze -> Kaiten -> Higanbana
Core rotation: It's just the 3 sen combo
Hakaze -> Shifu -> Kasha
Hakaze -> Jinpu -> Gekko
Hakaze -> Yukikaze
Finish with Hagakure, if on CD use Kaiten -> Iaijutsu (Midare setsugekka) (The timing should alternate every other combo Hagakure then Iaijutsu then Hagakure...)
After Every main combo do one of these three.
1. DOT refresh: Hakaze -> Yukikaze -> Kaiten -> Iaijutsu (if you need to refresh Dot)(If Dot is under 20 secs clip it)
2. Meikyo combo: Meikyo -> Kasha -> gekko -> Yukikaze -> Kaiten -> Iaijutsu (If Meikyo is off cooldown)
3. Filler optional for timing: Gyoten -> Enpi ->(optional Gyoten)(use this as filler if you find yourself hitting the Hagakure CD at the end of every other combo)
Kenki: Kenki is the same as listed in the picture: Save for Guren and Kaiten, while spending on Shinten whenever your above 40.
Way to think about it: 3 step deal.
Opener -> Alternating combo -> 1 of 3 fillers at the end of each combo
Then manage Kenki.
You can run into Dot refresh and Meikyo CD conflict, Prioritize Meikyo.
If this is the ideal SAM opener - NIN and WAR will have slashing debuff up before you do, so yours will simply be refreshing the slashing debuff. This, of course, is all based on the idea that what we currently consider to be ideal openers for each job is correct, though for NIN and WAR, it's far more likely, since their changes were relatively smaller than the introduction of a whole new job.
