For those of you who aren't aware, FFXIV has been running relic questlines since 2.0. Essentially, they're a way for everyone to unlock endgame gear. This new quest series starts inFFXIV Patch 5.25, with regular updates coming in future patches.
Background
Bozja, the homeland of the Hrothgar, has been controlled by Garlean rulers for many years. But with the Empire falling into disarray, the people of Doma and Ala Mhigo have risen up to challenge their authority. Unfortunately, the Bozjans lack the means to join the rebellion. They need a standard to rally under - a weapon of legend.
So, how do you start the Save the Queen Relic Weapon Quest?
Pre-requisites
First off, the quest you’re looking for is called Hail to the Queen. This will kickstart the quest line proper, and you’ll be rewarded with a Relic Weapon at the end of this quest chain. However, you need to have completed the Alliance raid series from the Stormblood arc first.
This means that you need to clear the Royal Rabanastre, Ridorana Lighthouse, and Orbonne Monastery Alliance raids from the previous expansion, and complete the Return to Ivalice quest line in order for this new chain to be available. If you haven’t done so, you can access these raids from Kugane. In addition to that, you also need to have completed the Shadowbringers main story quests and have a battle job at level 80.
Hail to the Queen
To start the quest and get your Relic Weapon, head over to Kugane and talk to Keiten at X:13, Y:13. The quest is titled Hail to the Queen, and is essentially one long story arc, complete with a solo duty, for you to get through.
Unlock your Resistance Weapon
Without spoiling the story here, you will need to clear an instanced duty. This one is quite long, and can be difficult according to the job you are playing — so having a 470 ilevel is quite important here. Once the Instanced duty is done, there's a bit more talking and then you will be rewarded with your first Resistance Weapon, for free (just a lot of work)!
It IS possible to get your weapon for every class you own at Level 80. The first step of the process is shortened, but the next steps should be of the same length each time you work on a new one. To get a new weapon for another job you just need to gather four Thavnairian Scalepowders from Rowena's vendors in Mor Dhona or Idyllshire. The first iteration of the weapon comes with an ilevel of 485 and five materia slots. On the other hand, given the first iteration of this relic is very basic, we can expect that the incoming upgrades are going to be a hell lot of farming!
Crafter and Gatherer Questline
A new questline that will allow Disciples of the Land and Hand to upgrade their Skysteel Tools into even more powerful versions. By crafting or gathering specified items, players can obtain class-specific tools for Disciples of the Hand and Land which can be enhanced in future updates.
Obtaining and Enhancing Skysteel Tools
Upon completing the quest "Mislaid Plans," players will receive a Skysteel Prototype Coffer. Using this item transforms it into a tool corresponding to the user's current class. Subsequent Skysteel prototype coffers can be obtained from Denys in the Brume (X:8.0 Y:10.0).
Each Skysteel tool requires a certain number of items to be delivered to Denys in the Brume (x:8.0 Y:10.0) before it can be enhanced. Please note that the items required will vary depending on the tool.
We will update this article along with new content regarding the upgrades, so make sure to check-in regularly!
