Aion vs Guilds Wars 2

I have been playing Aion and Guild Wars 2 for a year or so, and I want to express some of my opinions about these two MMORPG games. Some conclusions are from my game experience.

At the beginning of Aion release, it was an inspiring MMORPG. Graphic is great. Story was good, which was once considered to be World of Warcraft killer. There was once more than nine million users all around the world going to move to Aion.

Compared to Aion at launch, Aion is much like any other MMO focusing on leveling. It is easily to get to cap without running out of any quest and get to level 50+ in no time.

Aion is a grind to level cap and gear up. The gears are so different and costs varied from a few Aion coins to thousands of Aion Coins. If you want to buy good gear for you, you may have to consume millions of gears when leveling. If you can well handle all of them, it has fun PVP. If you want to enjoy more fun in PVP, perhaps Guild Wars 2 is more suitable.

When looking for a new PvP MMORPG, it takes me a long time at which I were specialized in WoW burst melee and magi DPS classes. WoW is interesting is due to its specific PvP. And if only care about pvp, you can play WoW which is easily to gear up and has free game or pay one time to get the same experience as Aion.

I think AION is a better open-world PvP game, but it's reliance on gear makes it's instanced PvP quite frustrating. While Guild Wars 2 has the most balanced instanced PvP I've ever seen but the WoW is very zergy and quite boring. As others have said, Guild Wars 2 is far more accessible for new players; AION's leveling is fast but it's endgame gear grind is almost never-ending. AION is free, it's going to take years to get to a competitive level at endgame (unless you have a ton of time of free time). I recommend buying Guild Wars 2 and trying the instanced PvP as soon as you can. If you dislike it, give AION a try. You can buy GW2 gold at SSEGOLD now with safe transaction!

Aion - also not rocket science but being able to fly adds another dimension to it, I found the instanced group v group maps good fun and rewarding and the mass battles felt a lot more epic to me than gw2's back and forth. Will take you longer to reach the high end but there's a lot more scope there of you wanna progress and fight with friends.

I prefer AION's combat. I feel like the skill cap is much higher due to the insane number of abilities and "weaving", however I'm sure other people would claim GW2's dodge mechanic makes it a tougher game to master.

Whilst AION is free, it's going to take ages for you to get to a competitive level at endgame (unless you have a ton of time of free time). I recommend buying Guild Wars 2 and trying the instanced PvP as soon as you can. If you dislike it, give AION a try.
