New World Harvesting Guide
Amazon’s “New World” has taken the world by storm; it has faired a few hostile critics and a rocky launch; however, New World is recognized by gamers worldwide as the game that has the most in-depth crafting system in an MMO RPG.
As with many MMO RPG’s crafting is an integral part of the economic system and the progression system; New World is no different. This guide will show you the best New World farming spots, herb lists, and the quickest to increase harvesting.
How to Farm Herbs (Harvesting) in New World
To harvest all ingredients and minerals in New World, you need the proper tools. To farm herbs in New World, you need to have a sickle. Sickles come in various qualities, namely:
●Flint Harvesting Sickle
●Iron Harvesting Sickle
●Steel Harvesting Sickle
●Starmetal Harvesting Sickle
●Orichalcum Harvesting Sickle
Tips Before you Start Gathering Herbs
As we previously mentioned, you can gather herbs with sickles. The sickle will vary in the quality of resources and time spent on each herb. For example, herb gathering with a flint harvesting sickle takes longer and doesn’t produce the most significant resources per material. Using an Orichalcum harvesting sickle, you can expect faster gathering, better resources, and the ability to farm any resource (If your skill level isn't high enough, check our New World Power Leveling Service).
How to Get Sickles in New World
New World Crafting
In New World, crafting benches serve as a way to create tools for various professions. For example, Cooking will require a kitchen to prepare food buffs or dyes. To make sickle(s), you will need to have a Workshop. Most settlements will have a slot for level 1 workshops which you can upgrade through Town Projects. The higher level of your workbench, the better tools you can make; however, keep in mind that you will need to level up your engineering to craft better tools, along with the resources necessary. Here is a list of all sickles and their engineering level requirement.
●Tier 1 - Flint Harvesting Sickle - 0 Engineering Skill to craft.
●Tier 2 - Iron Harvesting Sickle - 0 Engineering Skill to craft
●Tier 3 - Steel Harvesting Sickle - 20 Engineering Skill to craft
●Tier 4 - Starmetal Harvesting Sickle - 100 Engineering Skill to craft
●Titer 5 - Orichalcum Harvesting Sickle - 150 Engineering Skill to craft
Alternative Ways to Obtain Sickles
Sickles can not only be crafted but can be acquired through other means too. Most enemies in New World have a rare drop chance for any tool in the game, along with treasure chests scattered throughout Aeternum.
The most easily accessed way of getting sickles is through trading posts. According to your server, you can pay a small fee for any or all of these sickles.

New World Leveling Guide
Like with all other professions in New World, harvesting needs a certain amount of exp to reach max level (200.) In this case, harvesting requires 460 000 experience points to get levels 1 to 200. It is optimal to farm resources in abundance with the best possible tools to bring down harvesting times and get to the max level as fast as possible. We recommend these herbs as they are the easiest to level up your skills from:
Harvest these resources until level 200. You can also enchant your gear to gain extra experience per harvest, which significantly decreases gathering times and increases knowledge gained. If you have 200 intelligence, you can earn an experience bonus towards harvesting.

Here are some of the locations for popular herbs:
Windsward is the most popular location to find thyme; see the image below for the location.
Tarragon is primarily located in Reekwater, which is right next to Windsward, which makes for an easy farming rotation between the two herbs. See the image below for the exact location:
Rosemary can be found along the Restless shores and Mornindale. See the image below for the exact farming location:
The most significant spot again will be in Windsward, along with Thyme. This location is generally the best for farming herbs as the area is low-level and abundant with herbs. You can also find it along the restless shore, slightly to the northeast. Find the exact locations below:
